The organizational structure of VDS is designed to maximize  individual leadership, mentorship, and upport of all involved, as well as ensure that decisions can be made  quickly and effectively. As theiagram below suggests, the program was initiated by a group of  project directors working out of MIT. This team develops basic system requirements, recruits top talent,  and cultivates the primary capital resources for the project. The VDS Org team is joined at MIT by the  Systems Architecture Team (SAT) responsible for developing the underlying framework for the vehicle  and working closely with the six technical area groups to ensure that the system performs as well or better than its individual parts. The entirety of VDS is supported by a global scenario planning and active use profile development team based out of TUDeflt. As the diagram shows, the VDS partner schools are broken down into six technical groups, each of which is responsible for a primary aspect of the Vision’s design.
